About this stay
Located in the Puros Conservancy in northern Kaokoland, Okahirongo Elephant Lodge offers an open desert setting without fences.

Its Himba-inspired architecture includes a central ovoid dome, seven suites and one two-bedroom suite; these are the only buildings with doors. The low-impact structure runs on solar energy, and borehole water also supplies the pool.
Here, the lunar-like scenery and slower pace take precedence over conventional wildlife viewing. Meals include a picnic in the canyon, followed by a return to the lodge in the early afternoon, with the option to swim in the infinity pool among ostriches and starlings. Evenings continue over desert refreshments.
