Good to know
Best time to visit
Prepare for travel through the Solitaire area with plenty of water, fuel and protection from the sun and dust. Desert nights cool quickly after hot days, so pack warm layers for sleeping under the stars.
Stay advice
Book Desert Camp directly through the General Dealer and specify a campsite, a night at the Roadhouse or a transfer to the Mountain Lodge. Check fuel, provisions and tyres before crossing, as the site is an isolated stopover.
